Job Description
Fenot Associates is a health and development organization based in Addis Ababa, working with government, academic, research, and global health partners on health systems strengthening, research, and evidence-to-policy translation. We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team.

Job Summary
The Junior Accountant supports the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including bookkeeping, payment processing, tax compliance, and preparing financial records in accordance with Ethiopian regulatory requirements and company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate, up-to-date books of accounts.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and supporting documentation.
- Process supplier payments, staff advances, and reimbursements.
- Handle petty cash and reconcile it regularly.
- Prepare and file statutory returns, including VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and pension, in compliance with Ethiopian tax law and the Ministry of Revenue’s deadlines.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Support payroll preparation and related deductions.
- Assist in preparing periodic, project-based, and donor financial reports.
- Maintain organized financial files and support internal and external audits.
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Responsible for Occasional outdoor work.
Required Qualifications
- BA Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance.
- 0-1 years of accounting experience.
- Beginner-level knowledge of accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills in English and Amharic.
