Union of Ethiopian Women and Children Associations (UEWCA) is non-governmental, non-political and non-partisan consortium of 80 Women, Girls and Children focused on Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that are engaged on the empowerment and gender equality in all regional states and city administrations of Ethiopia. UEWCA was established in 2010 as a platform to voice the voice of its members and beneficiaries as well as to capacitate and coordinate the efforts of its member CSOs and Stakeholders towards seeing well-dignified, empowered, healthy, vibrant and visionary women, girls and children in Ethiopia.

01. Shelter Management Officer (Re- advertised)
- Deadline: February 10, 2026 | Location: Dessie Town, South Wollo
Key Responsibilities
The Shelter Management Officer will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and oversight of shelter interventions for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). This includes oversight of site-level shelter construction and minor rehabilitation, identification and targeting of IDPs for shelter support, and day-to-day management of shelters, while ensuring compliance with humanitarian standards. The role focuses on operational management and coordination rather than detailed technical design.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate shelter assessments to identify shelter needs, gaps, and priorities at IDP sites.
- Identify, verify, and prioritize IDP households eligible for shelter construction, upgrading, or rehabilitation based on agreed vulnerability criteria.
- Provide site-level oversight of shelter construction and minor rehabilitation activities, ensuring work is completed according to approved plans, timelines, and minimum shelter standards.
- Coordinate with site committees, CCCM actors, local authorities, and construction teams or contractors to ensure smooth implementation of shelter activities.
- Support and strengthen community-based shelter management structures, including shelter or site committees.
- Ensure protection, gender, age, and disability inclusion (PGI) considerations are fully mainstreamed throughout shelter construction, allocation, and management processes.
- Identify and refer vulnerable households for additional shelter, protection, or referral services in coordination with protection partners.
- Coordinate closely with government authorities, implementing partners, and the Shelter/ES-NFI Cluster to ensure alignment, quality, and avoidance of duplication.
Education
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Development Studies, Disaster Risk Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
OR - Bachelor’s Degree in the above or related fields.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for master’s degree, or 4 years of relevant experience for bachelor’s degree, in shelter management, shelter coordination, ES/NFI programming, or humanitarian emergency response.

02. Field Level Cashier (Re-advertised)

The Field Level Cashier will manage site-level cash and petty cash operations, including:

Required Qualifications and Experience

03. Woreda Officer (Itang Special Woreda)

Job Description
About UEWCA and the Project:
Union of Ethiopian Women and Children Associations (UEWCA) is a national umbrella organization with over 90 member CSOs, dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of women and children. We are implementing a project titled “Empowering Civic Participation through Dialogue and Digital Tools” in partnership with Dan Church Aid (DCA). The project aims to promote civic space, inclusive participation, and human rights in the Gambella Region and at the national level, with a focus on empowering women, youth, and marginalized groups.
Job Summary:
Woreda Facilitator will be the primary field-based staff responsible for the day-to-day implementation, community mobilization, and facilitation of project activities in Itang Special Woreda. S/he will work closely with community members, local government structures, women and youth groups, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes related to civic education, community dialogues, economic empowerment, and social accountability.
Report to: Regional officer
Duration: 11 Months (with a probation period)
Key Responsibilities:
- Mobilize target groups and lead community meetings, trainings, and dialogues on rights and inclusion.
- Implement project activities, support beneficiary selection, and organize leadership training and community-service provider meetings.
- Build relationships with local authorities, represent the project at meetings, and coordinate with other NGOs.
- Collect data, prepare reports, document lessons learned, and assist in project monitoring.
- Ensure gender equality, safe participation for all, and adherence to security guideline
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: First degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Law, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in community mobilization, facilitation, and implementing civic engagement, gender equality, or human rights projects. Experience working in Gambella Region, preferably in Itang Special Woreda, is a strong advantage.
- Languages: Fluency in Nuer and/or Anuak is ESSENTIAL.
