Job Description

EOC-DICAC is a recognized & licensed non-profit charitable local NGO working for the benefit of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia to attain self-reliance by tackling the root causes of poverty, migration, climate change, conflict, public health illiteracy problems by promoting sustainable development programs. Since 1972, EOC-DICAC has been engaged in development and humanitarian interventions all over the country. Therefore, EOC-DICAC would like to invite dynamic and creative applicant for the following vacant post.

Report to: General Account Division Head

Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa

No of Vacant Post: One

Salary and benefits: Negotiable

Terms of employment: One year with a strong possibility of extension

Main duties and responsibilities

Payroll Management:

  • Prepare and process employee payroll at the head office level, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

Statutory Deductions:

  • Ensure timely processing and clearance of payroll-related deductions such as income tax, pension contributions, and other statutory obligations.

Tax Reporting:

  • Compile and submit monthly and annual purchase reports of goods and services in the format required by the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority (ERCA).

Withholding Tax Compliance:

  • Monitor and ensure the proper deduction and timely settlement of withholding taxes in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Payment Processing:

  • Prepare payment vouchers and process approved payments accurately and in a timely manner.

Petty Cash Management:

  • Manage petty cash disbursements within the approved float limit.
  • Replenish petty cash as required and ensure the system is locked to prevent duplicate replenishments.
  • Assist in the year-end petty cash closing and follow up on the recovery of refundable amounts as needed.

About You

Job Requirements

  • BA degree in Accounting and Finance and a minimum of 4 years work experience in similar position.
