The Project

Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative ” Capacity building training in tourism academy “, sequa implements the “The Tourism sector Support Scheme targeting growth orientated Tourism ” project for Arba Minch area in Ethiopia. With this, sequa aims to facilitate capacity building and enhancing the job quality and creating new jobs Ethiopian Tourism sector service providers by increasing their competitiveness and quality service so that their services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets.

Benefiting companies and professional individuals receive flexible and demand-oriented funding consulting, technical training, on areas of different sections of the general topics of capacity building. A special focus will be on specialized training programs which will be designed to enhance the expertise of professionals in service quality assurance, within the tourism industry. It focuses on key areas that ensure high product standards, competitive service, and effective strategies to execute flow of tourists. The support scheme is expected to contribute to the change in the service delivery growth of tourism.

sequa has selected Tesfa Tours through a vetting process. Tesfa Tours was founded in 2010 and conducts tour operator services with international partners, specialized hiking, biking adventure and sustainable tours with the importance of customer satisfaction. Additionally, Tesfa Tours operates individual tours, trekking tours, culture, breathtaking landscapes, and diverse communities. Tesfa Tour’s goal is to create meaningful travel while supporting local development and sustainability.

The objective of this assignment is to design and develop a visually appealing, responsive website that enhances usability and user experience, ensures easy access to essential information on tours, safety, and sustainability, and enables the internal team to manage and update content independently.

Your Tasks / Responsibilities

The expert or consultancy firm is expected to design and develop the following topics below:

Website Structure:

• Travel Information & Visitor Safety
• Tour Offerings
• Community-Based Tourism & Sustainability
• Customer Reviews
• Photo Gallery
• Contact, Blog, and Newsletter
• Legal Compliance

Design & Functionality

• Design and branding
• Mobile & Laptop responsiveness
• Functionality
• Technical specification and capacity building

Key Deliverables:

• Fully functional, live website on the agreed domain
• Migration from current site/domain to new Framer-hosted site
• Source files and full access credentials
• Basic Staff Training on Website Updates & Collaboration with Tesfa’s Marketing Team
• Summary report on design choices and maintenance guidance.

Your Qualification / Skills

• Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or IT related or equivalent experience (3-5 years plus) in web development, management and design
• Portfolio of previous design work and websites built is required (please include links or examples demonstrating your capabilities)
• Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English, ensuring smooth collaboration and documentation

Your Working Experience

• Demonstrated experience designing modern, user-friendly websites
• Strong grasp of user experience (UX) principles
• Proficiency in website builders (Framer experience is a plus)
• Basic SEO knowledge and mobile-responsive design skills
• Clear communication and ability to meet deadlines
