Preamble
This ToR is developed to invite interested companies to participate in a bidding process for the production of advisory video on lactation curve. The video production is part of the Bridge+ project implemented by a collaborative effort of PxD, SNV and Wageningen University. SNV and PxD are partnering to provide customized dairy advisory services that target the gestation stage of the cow, and improve milk yield through targeted interventions. The process will include group formation activities and targeted interventions through in-person extension (providers), print media (hand outs) and mobile phone based advisory services.
About PxD and SNV
Precision Development (PxD): PxD is a US-based NGO that specializes in delivering mobile-based agricultural extension services. PxD is pioneering a new model for agricultural extension: delivering to farmers personalized agricultural advice through their mobile phones with the goal of improving the well-being of 100 million smallholder farmers through increased adoption of modern farming practices and improved yields. PxD, jointly with its Consortium Partners, has been implementing a project entitled “Strengthening Digital Agricultural Advisory Services (DAAS)’’, of which PxD has been implementing the direct-to-end-user component of the project with a focus on the dairy use case.
Netherlands Development Organization (SNV): SNV is a not-for-profit international development organization that makes a lasting difference in the lives of people living in poverty by helping them raise incomes and access basic services. In Ethiopia SNV is working in the agriculture, energy and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors to make a lasting difference in people’s lives. One of the projects SNV is implementing in Ethiopia is called Building Rural Income through the inclusive Dairy business Growth in Ethiopia (BRIDGE+). The BRIDGE + project which is implemented by the consortium of SNV Ethiopia and Wageningen University and Research (WUR) works on all components of the dairy value chain, from production up to end market, including consumption of nutritious food.
Objective of the advisory video
SNV has recruited and trained service providers with the aim of providing in person support to the identified farmers. These service providers are composed of Artificial Insemination Technicians (AITs), Development Agents (DAs), cooperative technical staff, private agents, or SNV project field staff. This advisory video production primarily targets these service providers.
The video advisory is aimed to be used as a knowledge refresher and reference material for the service providers. The service providers will use the advisory videos in training sessions and for farmers during monitoring.

PxD and SNV will provide the content for the advisory video. The content will be in English and orientation will be given to the production contracting company. The content of the advisory video will fully focus on all the issues within, with a special focus on areas responding to the information needs of the service providers and of the farmers. The video is expected to have a combination of audio/narration and visual contents. The contracting company is expected to produce a video script solely based on the content provided by PxD and SNV.
