1. Background

Vétérinaires Sans Frontières – Suisse (VSF-Suisse) is a development-oriented, politically and religiously neutral non-profit international non-governmental organization (INGO) headquartered in Berne, Switzerland. Activities range from emergency relief to long-term development, with projects in Togo Mali, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. VSF-Suisse envisions having healthy people live and derive their livelihoods from healthy livestock in a sustainable, healthy and peaceful environment.

Currently, VSF-Suisse is implementing a World Food Programme (WFP)-funded resilience-building project titled “Strengthening the Resilience of Vulnerable Groups in the Context of Desert Locust Infestation in Ethiopia.” The project targets Harshin and Mula woredas in Fafen Zone and Erer woreda in Sitti Zone of Somali Region. As part of the intervention, the organization invites eligible and qualified suppliers to submit sealed bids for the supply and delivery of 4,500-layer chickens (90 days old) for distribution to 150 households (30 layers per household) to improve income, nutrition, and household livelihoods.

The tender needs to be submitted as completed tender /bid documents, one original marked “Original “and one copy marked “copy “by stating the tender name and reference number with wax-sealed envelope deposited on the Tender Box at VSF-Suisse’s Jigjiga and Addis Ababa office within seven working days from the date of advertisement, i.e. Until May 30, 2025, 11:00 AM morning. The technical and financial proposals must be placed together in a sealed envelope.
