Position Overview

Pharo School is expanding, and we are looking for innovative, dedicated subject teachers to join our team in Assosa and Homosha. Collaborates With: Head of Education and Education Program Team

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and Motivate: Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that inspire students to excel and cultivate a love of learning.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop creative, high-impact lesson plans that align with national standards and Pharo School’s vision.
  • Assessment for Growth: Use innovative, formative assessment methods to track student progress and tailor teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate and Lead: Work closely with fellow educators, school leaders, and parents to create a supportive and thriving learning environment.
  • Co-Curricular Excellence: Take an active role in school life beyond the classroom by participating in extracurricular activities, community outreach, and student enrichment programs.

About You

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

    • MSc/MA/BA/BSc in the relevant subject area or a Bachelor’s degree in Education with specialized qualifications.
    • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (3 years for Music teachers), preferably in high-performing international or private schools.

Skills and Expertise:

    • Proficiency with digital learning tools (MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, etc.).
    • Strong knowledge of modern teaching methods, including the use of technology to enhance learning.
    • Fluent in English with the ability to teach in English.
    • Experience with formative assessments and data-driven teaching strategies.
    • Passion for teaching and student development, with a deep commitment to fostering a love for learning.
