ICT Experts – Network Installation & EMR Implementation at HABTech Solutions PLC, Ethiopia

HABTech Solutions is implementing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) solution in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Oromia Regional Health Bureau, and Palladium.

We are seeking five experienced ICT Experts to support the EMR rollout at selected health facilities in Adama town and Boset woreda (East Shewa Zone), Oromia Region. One ICT Expert will be assigned to each health facility.

Job Description

The ICT Expert will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of the facility’s network infrastructure and will provide hands-on technical support for the implementation and operationalization of the EMR system.

The expert will work closely with the facility team and the HABTech Solutions implementation team to ensure that the assigned health facility is technically ready and able to effectively use the EMR system.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test the Local Area Network (LAN) and related network infrastructure at the assigned facility.
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, access points, and related equipment.
• Ensure reliable network connectivity between EMR workstations and the required servers/systems.
• Support the installation, configuration, and readiness of computers and other ICT equipment required for EMR implementation.
• Provide hands-on technical support during EMR installation, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity problems affecting EMR use.
• Support EMR users in resolving basic technical issues and escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical team.
• Conduct network and system readiness checks and document identified gaps and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with facility staff and the HABTech Solutions team to ensure timely completion of implementation activities.
• Provide basic technical orientation to designated facility staff on network and EMR-related issues.
• Prepare and submit brief technical reports on network installation, EMR readiness, challenges, and completed activities.

Contract Duration

• Five (5) months

Duty Stations / Health Facilities

One ICT Expert will be recruited for each of the following facilities:

1. Olenchiti Primary Hospital
2. Wonji Primary Hospital
3. Biftu Primary Hospital
4. Geda Health Center
5. Wonji Kuriftu Health Center

Requirements

• BSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; OR TVET Diploma Level IV or above in a relevant ICT field.
• 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in network installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of LAN setup, cabling, switches, routers, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.
• Previous experience in EMR implementation, deployment, or technical support is a strong advantage.
• Experience supporting health facilities or other institutional ICT environments is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with facility and project teams.
• Fluency in the local language of the assigned location is required.
