DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The consultant will carry out the following:
Support preparation and delivery of workshop on coordination mechanism for warning in Central Africa
– Develop a synthesis on services and information shared by regional entities (climate, meteorological, river basin authorities and AMHEWS situation room) and describe how it is used, based on desk review and country consultation;
– Describe the procedures for warning in Central Africa based on the engagement with Disaster Risk Reduction focal points, describe challenges and key improvement;
– Prepare documents and presentations for a regional workshop on procedures to improve collaboration for warning services between regional and national entities in Central Africa;
– Support in-situ coordination of the workshop and the delivery of presentations;
– Drafting report of the workshop and collect feedback from countries, and provide a mapping of the operational procedures required to improve collaboration between regional and national entities based on countries discussion during the workshop;
– Prepare a communication article on the results of the workshop;
– Develop a concept note on strategies to improve early warning systems in the region to explore mobilization of resources.

Proposed fee: Payband C or D (390–750 USD) to be defined depending upon experience, knowledge, and skills.
