Future Hopes Integrated Development Organization (FHIDO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit, secular, and legally registered organization working to build a self-reliant and self-sufficient generation in Ethiopia through a comprehensive and sustainable development approach. FHIDO is operational in Addis Ababa City Administration, Oromiya, Tigray, Amhara, Afar, and South Ethiopia regions.

About the Project

FHIDO, in partnership with Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation (PCF), is implementing a three-year project titled “Active Minds, Bright Futures: Improved literacy and numeracy skills and attendance of girls and boys in 20 primary schools of Dita and Chencha Districts of Gamo Zone, South Ethiopia region.” The project aims to strengthen access to quality education, improve learning outcomes, and enhance community participation in education.

01. Education Supervisor

Job Description

  • Position Title: Education Supervisor
  • Number of Positions: 2(1 for Dita and 1 for Chencha District)
  • Duty Station: Dita and Chencha Districts, Gamo Zone, South Ethiopia Region
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of Fund.
  • Reports to: Education Project Coordinator
  • Salary: As per the scale of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical supervision and support to education project activities in target districts.
  • Oversee planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of education interventions.
  • Ensure alignment of project activities with national and regional education policies.
  • Facilitate training, mentoring, and capacity building for teachers and school administrators.
  • Conduct regular field visits to schools and community learning centers.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on project progress and challenges.
  • Coordinate with local education offices, community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Support the Project Coordinator in documentation, reporting, and donor compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Educational Planning & Management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in education project coordination or management, preferably in rural Ethiopia, southern Ethiopia region.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian education policies and frameworks.
  • Proven skills in project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages in Gamo Zone is an asset.
  • Willingness to be based in Dita/Chencha with frequent field travel.

02. Education Project Coordinator

  • Reports to: FHIDO Programmes Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of education project activities in Dita and Chencha Districts.
  • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, and progress reports in line with project objectives.
  • Provide technical support to schools, teachers, and local education offices.
  • Facilitate training, workshops, and community mobilization activities.
  • Ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project results.
  • Represent the project in district-level education forums and maintain strong collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Supervise project staff and volunteers, ensuring accountability and quality delivery.

Salary: As per the scale of the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Educational Planning & Management (master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in education project coordination or management, preferably in rural Ethiopia, southern Ethiopia region.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian education policies and frameworks.
