The Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) is a volunteer-based Association established in 1966. It is a well-known organization and pioneered Family Planning (FP) program in the country and tested different innovative approaches (including youth-friendly services, community and workplace-based distribution of contraceptives). It primarily targets under-served and marginalized segments of the population. Currently, it is registered as an Ethiopian Residents Charity Organization (under certificate number 0475), and is also an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). Furthermore, FGAE is locally a member of the Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA); Consortium of Reproductive Health Associations (CORHA) and the Consortium of Population, Health and Environment (COPHE).
