Job Description
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Operation Head of the Area Office, the Job Holder is responsible for overall the Project Finance Management; including compliance to rules and regulation of the grant agreement, he/she should have Skills in the use of computer applications, Good experience in financial accounting software, Capacity to train and guide, Competence scale at proficient level, Capacity to communicate, Good experience in report writing and financial data analysis, Pro-choice.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Properly codes and records expenditure, income and any other related transactions in the books of accounts;
- Checks all clinic receipt, invoices and petty cash payments and post;
- Checks summary of bi-weekly transactions received from Area offices for having complete supporting documents and proper coding of account code, funder, activity and donor line codes and post;
- Maintains debtors and creditors accounts in with proper allocation of balances;
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliation;
- Verifies payroll and other regular payment transactions with due consideration to deductions (advance, loan….) and record;
- Responds to Auditors queries and enquiries and prepares schedules as and when required
- Records stock receipts, transfers and consumptions;
- Offers guidelines and reporting formats to accounting professionals involved in the preparation and recording financial statements;
- Performs quarterly reconciliation between the general ledger and the subsidiary ledger;
- Assists Center heads, Center Receptionists on financial matters; and General Accounts Manager in the preparation of financial statements, revision and analysis of account balances;
- Performs clearance and investigation of long outstanding balances of stock variances etc;
- Assists in the preparation of semi-annual and annual financial statements;
- Prepares and submits monthly and other regular or on request financial reports, as per the reporting requirements of FGAE and the project funders;
- Explores better systems of handling financial documents;
- Performs related tasks as reasonably require
Skills required:
- Skill in the use of computer applications
- Good experience in financial accounting software, Capacity to train and guide, Competence scale at proficient level, Capacity to communicate
- Good experience in report writing and financial data analysis,
About You
Minimum Required Qualification:
- MBA/MA/BA in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:
- 5 years for MA/MBA and 7 years for BA degree directly relevant experience
- Computer skill and knowledge.
- Knowledge of accounting principles
