About the role

The Finance and Administration Coordinator will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the IMS country office in Ethiopia, ensuring compliance with IMS policies and procedures. The role supports the Programme Team by facilitating financial, administrative, and logistical tasks, and contributes to the effective implementation of grants and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily financial operations at the Ethiopia office, including payroll, payments, and cash management
  • Ensure compliance with local administrative requirements and escalate issues as needed
  • Prepare, review, and follow-up on contracts and partner financial reports
  • Support the Programme Manager and Programme Controller in financial capacity activities, audits, and budget development
  • Identify and propose solutions to operational and financial challenges affecting programme implementation

Duration and Location

  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (on-site)
  • Scope: Part time, 20 hrs/week (depending on funding, the position may transition from part time to full-time)
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Application Deadline: 10th October 2025

The Finance and Administration Coordinator will report directly to the Programme Manager for IMS’ Ethiopia programme.

  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements
  • Capacity-building experience is an advantage

Required qualifications

  • Proven experience in financial management and administration, preferably in an international organization or NGO context
  • Strong understanding of local payroll, tax, and statutory contributions in Ethiopia
  • Experience with contract management and financial reporting
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
