Amref Health Africa (Amref) was founded in 1957 and has since grown to become the largest African-based international health development organisation; currently implementing more than 180 programmes, reaching more than 40 million people across 35 African countries; and a staff complement of over 2,000. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, Amref Health Africa has offices in ten countries in Africa – Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guinea (Conakry), Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. The Security Guard, working under the supervision of the Safety and Security Officer, holds a crucial position within the organization. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and protection of the company’s property, employees, and visitors at all times. This role is essential for maintaining a secure environment and preventing any potential threats or incidents. Each day, the Security Guard undertakes various tasks that contribute to the overall safety of the workplace. In addition to monitoring access, Security Guards are also responsible for patrolling the premises regularly, responding to emergencies, maintaining a detailed log of daily activities is also a key responsibility. The Security Guard documents all incidents, visitor entries, and any irregularities observed during their shift. This record-keeping is important for future reference and can aid in investigations if necessary. It also helps the Safety and Security Officer evaluate the overall security situation and identify areas for improvement.
