Are you an experienced M&E Officer looking to make an impact in the humanitarian and development sector in Ethiopia?
3iS is seeking a qualified Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of our M&E frameworks and data management systems in Addis Ababa. In this role, you will oversee data collection, conduct field evaluations, build partner capacity, and transform raw data into actionable insights for key decision-makers.
Design, refine, and implement M&E frameworks, logical frameworks (logframes), and results-based monitoring systems in line with donor standards.
Develop custom M&E tools, data collection instruments, databases, and reporting dashboards tailored to project goals.
Drive the operational use of M&E tools to track project milestones and share high-quality data across teams.
Oversee data collection, cleaning, validation, and statistical analysis to ensure high data quality and timeliness.
Analyze project performance using statistical and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SPSS, STATA, R).
Produce evidence-based insights for monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual project reports.
Document success stories, best practices, and lessons learned for organizational knowledge management.
Conduct regular field visits, joint monitoring missions, and Data Quality Assessments (DQA) across priority zones.
Lead baseline, mid-term, and end-line survey evaluations, including drafting Terms of Reference (TORs) for external consultants.
Facilitate monthly and quarterly performance review meetings with Program Managers to optimize project delivery.
Deliver training sessions for project staff and partner organizations on M&E tools, mobile data collection, and data management principles.
Collaborate closely with Information Management Officers to ensure technical coherence across systems.
Represent 3iS in national M&E working groups and technical forums (e.g., Assessment and Information Management Working Group).
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
4–5 years of progressive M&E experience within the humanitarian or development sector in Ethiopia.
Proven experience in M&E system design, indicator development, and data workflow management.
Demonstrated experience using statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R) and dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Hands-on experience with mobile data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK) is highly desirable.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
English: Professional fluency (spoken and written) – Mandatory
Amharic: Professional fluency (spoken and written) – Mandatory
Nationality: Open exclusively to candidates of Ethiopian nationality.
Travel Availability: Willingness to travel frequently (up to 60%) to field locations and priority zones.
High adherence to data protection, confidentiality, and zero-tolerance policies regarding SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment).
