Job Description

DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government, bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs: the Child Well-being and Education Development Program, the Gender and Life Skill Development Program, the Employable Skills Development Program, the Advocacy Program, and the Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following positions: Project Coordinator, Education in Emergency EiE Project Officer, Social Worker/Community Mobilizer, Meal Officer, Gender and Inclusive Officer, Finance Coordinator, Woreda Caher, and Guard

EiE Project Officer

Job Summary

The EiE Project officer Supervisor oversees the day-to-day implementation of emergency education activities, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and alignment with project goals. Supervise facilitators, coordinate with local stakeholders, and support planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.

Specific Role and Responsibility

  • Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of project activities across both woredas.
  • Support and monitor community mobilizers, social workers, and other field staff.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of training, awareness campaigns, and distribution activities.
  • Liaise with local government and community stakeholders to ensure buy-in and smooth implementation.
  • Collect and compile reports and data for monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Ensure DEC safeguarding policies are implemented at all levels in its project site;
  • Involves monitoring progress, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring safeguarding, inclusion, and psychosocial support are integrated throughout the response.

Education Qualification

  • BED /BA/MA- EDCUCATION / EDPM

NGO/CSO Experience

  • 3 Years

Additional skill

  • Good experience in community mobilization or social work.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Fluent in the Local language
  • Familiarity with the local context and ability to work in rural areas.
