Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Telecom and IT Engineer to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications and IT infrastructure in our oilfield operations. This role is ideal for an engineer with foundational experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility in a challenging remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, and maintain telecom systems such as Fiber Optic, VSAT Satellite, UHF/VHF Radio, and Wireless Networks.
• Support IP Telephony (VoIP), PABX systems, and field communication infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Provide technical support for IT systems, servers, and end-user devices in the field.
• Assist in the maintenance of SCADA and industrial communication networks (Advantageous).
• Perform preventive maintenance, system health checks, and fault resolution.
• Support drilling, work-over, and project teams with temporary Telecom/IT setups.
• Monitor network performance and report issues to senior engineers.
• Maintain accurate documentation, network diagrams, and asset inventory.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs and spare parts management.
• Support junior technicians and participate in knowledge-sharing activities.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Telecom and/or IT support.
• At least 1 year of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Mining, or other industrial/remote site environments (preferred).

Technical Skills:

• Good knowledge of Fiber Optic networks and basic splicing/testing.
• Hands-on experience with VSAT, Radio systems, or Wireless communication.
• Solid understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, Switching, Routing, Wi-Fi).
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic virtualization.
• Basic knowledge of industrial protocols and SCADA systems is an advantage.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Cisco CCNA
• CompTIA Network+
• Huawei HCIA (Transmission or IP)
• ITIL Foundation
• BOSIET / H2S Awareness / Offshore Survival
