Background and Context

Sara Justice from All Women’s Association is a non-profit organization committed to empowering women and marginalized girls, advocating for their rights, and creating pathways toward social justice and gender equality. The organization addresses gender inequalities through awareness, advocacy, and action. With a strong legacy of community engagement and policy advocacy, Sara Justice continues to contribute to democratic and inclusive development in Ethiopia.

As part of this mission, the organization has planned two key activities. The first is to design and develop organizational website for Sara Justice that effectively reflects the organization’s mission, values, and impact. The second is to design and develop a mobile application aligned with the project’s goals. The developer will be responsible for delivering a user-centered, secure, scalable, and inclusive technology solution within the agreed timeframe.

Scope of Work and Responsibilities for website development

The selected contractor will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing a fully functional, secure website;
• Creating key pages including: Homepage, About Us, Programs, News/Blog, Resources, Get Involved, Contact Us;
• Integrating multimedia elements (images, videos, documents), social media feeds, and newsletter subscription;
• Providing a user-friendly Content Management System (CMS) for internal staff to update content;
• Conducting user testing and refining the site based on feedback

Scope of Work and Responsibilities for Mobile App development

The selected contractor will be expected to:

• Design and develop the mobile App based on user needs and project requirements;
• Ensure adherence to global standards for security, privacy, and accessibility
• Conduct user testing and incorporate iterative feedback to improve usability
• Provide technical documentation, source code, and training materials for sustainability and knowledge transfer
• Maintain regular communication and reporting with project staff and partners
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, end users, and stakeholders throughout the development cycle

Required Expertise

• Be a legally registered entity with experience in managing web and App development
• Have a multidisciplinary team including designers, developers, and UX specialists
• Have delivered websites and mobile APP for NGOs, public institutions, or civil society organizations
• Provide strong client references and a demonstrable project portfolio
• Strong proficiency in both front-end and back-end development (preferably using open-source frameworks)
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Figma, Trello, or similar tools
• Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and deliverables effectively
• Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and inclusive digital design
