UNFPA Global Internship Roster (2026) offers students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a leading United Nations agency.

Key Responsibilities & Impact
As an intern, you will support UNFPA’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2029 to help achieve four core outcomes:

Ending the unmet need for family planning.

Ending preventable maternal deaths.

Ending gender-based violence and harmful practices.
-
Advancing demographic change through evidence- and rights-based policies.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the UNFPA internship program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education:
-
Enrolled in an undergraduate degree (e.g., Bachelor’s) and completed at least one full academic year; OR
-
Enrolled in a postgraduate program (Master’s or higher); OR
-
Graduated with a university degree within the last 12 months; OR
-
Enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program requiring an internship.

Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English or French, and fluency in the official language of the local UNFPA office (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish).

Skills & Values: Interest in international development, strategic thinking, teamwork, adaptability, and cultural awareness.

Family Limitation: Direct relatives (parent, sibling, child) of current UNFPA staff members are ineligible.
Stipend & Financial Support
Eligible interns who do not receive financial support from an external sponsor (such as a university or government) will receive a monthly stipend to help cover living expenses. Stipend amounts vary based on the agreed work location and local living costs.
