Job Description

We are looking for a committed individual to lead a milk mapping exercise around Addis Ababa and Bishoftu. The purpose of this exercise is to better understand local milk production and collection opportunities, supporting the development of a stronger and more sustainable dairy value chain.

  • Proactively identify, build relationships, and conduct meetings with key stakeholders across the dairy value chain, including individual farmers, farmers’ cooperatives, milk collection centers, and local authorities.
  • Employ various data collection methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus group discussions) to gather accurate and reliable primary data on milk production volumes, collection routes, and market practices.

  • Present a prioritized list of segments with clear justifications to guide the company’s resource allocation and investment strategy.
  • Recruit, train, and directly coordinate a team of field-based milk mappers.
  • Develop clear work plans and protocols for the field team to conduct ground-truthing visits to farms and cooperatives in the prioritized segments.
  • Oversee the field verification process to validate collected data, refine volume estimates, and gather qualitative insights on the local market dynamics, challenges, and opportunities.

About You

  • BA in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in agriculture, dairy value chain, rural development, or a related field.

02. Maintenance Technician – MCPs & Addis Ababa Office

  • Location: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to Milk Collection areas

Job Description

1. Preventive Maintenance

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and utility systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and health checks of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of service and maintenance activities.

2. Corrective / Breakdown Maintenance

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or faults.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on-site.
  • Coordinate with vendors or senior technicians for complex repairs when necessary.

3. Technical Support for MCP Facilities:

  • Maintain and service:
    • Diesel generators
    • Water pumps
    • Milk pumps
    • Water boilers
    • Milk cooling systems (condensers)

4. Technical Support for Addis Ababa Office Facilities:

  • Maintain diesel generator, water lines, lighting, and electrical power distribution systems.
  • Perform mechanical related maintenance and repair tasks around the facility. (E.g. Door handle Maintenance, pipe installations, hand wash valve replacement, etc.)

5. Spare Part Planning & Inventory:

  • Identify critical spare parts and consumables.
  • Coordinate with the technical managers, warehouse, and procurement team to ensure availability of necessary spares.
  • Maintain proper documentation of parts usage and requisition.

6. Hands-on Assistance and Emergency Support

  • Provide immediate on-site and remote support for minor installations and quick fixes (e.g., replacing fuses, wiring repairs, basic plumbing fixes).
  • Assist the technical team in emergency maintenance cases or project work.

7. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit maintenance reports, incident reports, and work completion forms.

Production Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
