Work Location: Dalol (Afar Region)

Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) in children under five, pregnant and lactating women (PLW), and other vulnerable groups. The role ensures quality service delivery at facility and community level, accurate reporting, and effective coordination with health workers, woreda structures, and implementing partners.

Additionally TSFP Facilitators support Health Extension Workers to commence TSFP distributions, development of Joint distribution plan and dispatching of TSFP commodities in close coordination with Storekeepers and TSFP officers. TSFP facilitators also responsible for proper documentation and recording of Waybills, Beneficiary lists, screening data and Beneficiaries reached and kebele approval formats. Work closely with cluster health center and HPs for proper selection of FDPs and FDAs for smooth implementation of TSFP program

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

Joint TSFP distribution planning and community mobilization at facilities and community level
TSFP Commodity planning and dispatching to FDPs and HPs as per the distribution plan
Proper Documentation, recording and reporting of TSFP distribution documents
Community mobilization and active case finding, detection and screening activities
Conduct screening for acute malnutrition using MUAC, weight for height, and oedema checks.
Register new TSFP beneficiaries and manage follow up using approved registration tools.
Support distribution of RUSF, RUTF substitutes for MAM, CSB other specialized nutritious foods.
Ensure compliance with TSFP admission, discharge, and referral criteria.
Provide nutrition counseling to caregivers on:
Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
Hygiene and sanitation
Importance of follow-up visits and adherence.
Conduct community sensitization on screening and TSFP service availability.
Support active case finding and mass MUAC screening in collaboration with HEWs and community volunteers.
Strengthen the referral pathways between SC/OTP → TSFP → Health Facilities.
Engage community leaders, mother groups, and volunteers to improve program uptake
Maintain accurate beneficiary records, stock registers, and distribution sheets.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly TSFP reports (quantitative & qualitative).
Track commodity balance and consumption to avoid stock-outs.
Ensure timely submission of reports to supervisors and Woreda Health Office.
Ensure adherence to national CMAM/IMAM guidelines and donor standards (e.g., WFP, UNICEF).
Monitor performance indicators (cure rates, defaulter rates, non‑response).
Report immediately any challenges such as commodity shortages, pipeline breaks, protection issues, or improper admissions.
Ensure safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults during service provision.
Work closely with:
- Health Extension Workers (HEWs)
- Woreda Health Office
- Nutrition Officers & Supervisors
- Community volunteers
Support mentorship and on‑the‑job training for HEWs and volunteers.

Required Qualifications and Work Experience:

BSc Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, Health Officer Or related fields.
At least 1–2 years of experience in CMAM/TSFP programming.
Experience working in humanitarian or emergency settings is highly desirable.
Strong technical understanding of CMAM/IMAM protocols.
Ability to work in remote, resource‑limited environments.
Good communication and counseling skills.
Strong documentation and reporting ability.
Basic computer skills (Excel, Kobo, ODK preferred).
Ability to work respectfully with communities and local authorities.
