DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
BACKGROUND
RIVeR (Rectification of Image Velocity Results) is an open-source software for processing surface flow data, along with clear step-by-step guidelines. This software was part of the winning project of the fourth HydroHub Innovation Call for Latin America and the Caribbean. During the project, the approach was tested in real conditions in Buenos Aires and Córdoba and compared with traditional methods. A Training is planned for countries in the La Plata basin (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, with Argentina leading the activity). The goal is to train countries in image-based velocimetry and on the use of the RIVeR software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Task 1: Preparation of training materials:
– Develop the agenda, reading materials,presentations, logistics note, sample data, field checklist and practical exercises (e.g. case studies, group work);
– Ensure materials are available in both English and Spanish.
Task 2: Delivery of online and face-to-face training:
– Conduct an online webinar on the theory of image-based velocimetry;
– Conduct a 3-day face-to-face training for approximately 20 participants;
– Conduct a follow-up online meeting to address any remaining gaps;
Focus Countries:
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay
DELIVERABLES
Deliverable 1: training agenda, presentations and other training materials
Deliverable 2: Delivery of training and submission of final report (within 2 weeks after training delivery)

– At least 10 years of experience in the development of techniques for streamflow monitoring. |

Proposed fee: Band C: 390.00 – 560.00 USD per day depending upon experience, knowledge and skills.
