Solidaridad Network is an international solution-oriented civil society organization working through eight regional expertise centers to transform markets to make them more sustainable and inclusive. Our eight regional expertise centers include Asia, Eastern and Central Africa, Europe, Latin America, North America, Southern Africa, South America, West Africa and our global Secretariat in the Netherlands. Solidaridad Eastern and Central Africa, one of the regional centers, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya with country offices and programmers in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda.
We bring together supply chain players and engage them with innovative solutions to improve production, ensuring the transition to a sustainable and inclusive economy that maximizes the benefit for all. We facilitate strengthening of local capacity in developing countries, support the creation of enabling environments for economies to thrive, and improve market access. Solidaridad supports Ethiopia’s transition toward a more inclusive and resilient agricultural sector, addressing key challenges such as climate change, environment, food security and economic instability while focusing on coffee, dairy, fruits and vegetables, leather, cotton and textile value chains.
The primary objective of this assignment is to produce high-quality visual content including; videos, high-resolution photographs, and compelling case stories that capture and communicate the success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from various projects implemented by Solidaridad Ethiopia. These projects, implemented across diverse regions and value chains, aim to improve livelihoods and promote environmental sustainability through climate-smart and market-driven approaches in areas such as dairy, food security, and the cotton and textile sector.
Solidaridad Ethiopia is implementing a range of transformative projects designed to build resilient agricultural systems, improve livelihoods, and promote environmental sustainability. The Acting Now for Food Security and Resilient Food Systems project, launched in 2023 in Mareko and Meskan Districts, addresses food insecurity exacerbated by climate change, conflict, and market disruptions. It aims to enhance the resilience of smallholder farmers by increasing sustainable production, reducing costs, and expanding market access. Through interventions such as climate-smart agriculture (CSA), improved seed access, soil fertility solutions like vermicomposting, and gender-inclusive training approaches such as GALS, the project strengthens household nutrition and capacity, supports cooperative service delivery, and connects farmers with SMEs and mechanization services.
In parallel, the Reclaim Sustainability!, project launched in 2021 to contribute to responsible, inclusive, and climate-smart cotton and textile value chains, ensuring that smallholder cotton farmers and garment workers in Ethiopia benefit from fair value distribution, decent work, and environmental protection in various regions to mention some are Afar, Tigray Butajira, Arbaminch, Bishoftu, Sheger-city (Legatafo), and Addis Ababa. Complementing these efforts, we are also implementing the the Oromia Dairy Farmers’ Bounty Project (ODFBP) launched in 2022 to promote climate-smart dairy farming through testing three major business models, environmental assessment tools, and the development of the dairy sector in the Northern Shewa Zone Aleltu, Berek, Kimbibit, and Sululta Districts.
The ODFB project is under implementation in collaboration with government bureaus, with the aim to professionalize dairy farming practices and showcase scalable solutions to mitigate climate risks in the livestock sector. Together, these projects reflect Solidaridad Ethiopia’s commitment to inclusive value chain development, market-driven innovation, and sustainable agricultural transformation across the country.
In 2024–2025, Solidaridad piloted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) at Jay Jay Textile Factory and raised awareness among 44 textile factories nationwide. In parallel, the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Project strengthened 17 consortium partners in establishing gender-inclusive MEL systems, enhancing evidence-based decision-making, accountability, and gender equity in program delivery.
The primary objective of this service is to generate compelling and high-quality multimedia content that effectively captures and communicates the impact of Solidaridad Ethiopia’s key interventions. This includes the production of professional videos, written stories, and high-resolution photography that document the experiences of project beneficiaries, highlight key achievements, and demonstrate the value of Solidaridad’s inclusive, climate-smart, and market-driven approaches. The content will be used to enhance the visibility of Solidaridad’s work among donors, government institutions, partners, and the wider public. Moreover, it will support knowledge sharing and evidence-based advocacy by illustrating transformative change across various value chains and regions.
