Senior accountant at China Electric Power Equipment & Technology (CET), Ethiopia

China Electric Power Equipment & Technology Co., Ltd (CET) is a leading international engineering and Construction Company for power Transmission and distribution projects for a broad spectrum of customers worldwide. The Ethiopian Branch was established five years ago. We are looking for an Accountant to fill the vacancy.

Main Tasks

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile account balances and bank statements.
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
• Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and compliance with local, regional, and international regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support TAX audit processes.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
• Review journal entries and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor and supervise junior accountants and finance staff, and other related tasks

Qualifications/ Skills:-

Preliminary knowledge of Peachtree accounting and other related fields.

Main Requirements:-

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  Minimum of 8 years in accounting, with at least 2 years as senior Level in Construction Company.

• Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
•    Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, written & Oral communication skills (English is a must)

Education:– BA Degree from a recognized university or college
