Regional Accountant

We are seeking a qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, financial accounting, and finance systems. Experience with institutional donors, capacity building, and working within an international organisation will be a distinct advantage.

The Regional Accountant ensures high-quality, customer-focused accounting support for Tearfund’s operations across the East and Central Africa region. Working closely with Tearfund’s Global Finance team, the role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Do you have:

• Relevant post-qualification finance experience?
• Experience in finance capacity building and training?
• Substantial experience working with accounting software and online systems?
• Proven experience in budgeting and budget management?
• Proven experience in donor financial reporting?
• Exposure to organisational finance compliance?
• Proven experience in supporting programme teams in project design and management?

Do you have the ability to:

• Communicate complex financial data to non-finance professionals?
• Work under your own initiative and make decisions within a clear systems framework?
• Work cross-culturally and build effective relationships with colleagues across multiple locations?

Are you:

• A fully qualified accountant holding a recognised professional accounting or auditing qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)?
• A committed Christian aligned with Tearfund’s Mission, Values, and Beliefs?
• Willing and able to travel approximately 35% of the time?
