Job Summary

The BRAVE / Mullata Keenya – Our Vision Project Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical oversight, and operational management of the gender-transformative and inclusive SRHR project implemented in four FGAE-supported Woredas (Gumbi Bordode Woreda, Mieso Woreda, Chiro Zurya Woreda and Guba Qoricha Woreda) in West Hararghe Zone, Oromia Region.

The project aims to ensure that children, adolescents, and youth (CAY), in all their diversity, are safe, protected, and able to exercise control over their bodies and futures, supported by resilient communities and a vibrant civil society. The Project Manager will lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities in close collaboration with the implementing partner (EWDNA), government stakeholders, and other relevant actors to achieve the intended project outcomes. The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-oriented leader with strong project management skills and demonstrated expertise in SRHR, gender equality, disability inclusion, and meaningful youth engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the project’s M&E plan, including tools, indicators, and data management systems aligned with the Results Framework and donor requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to teams implementing the BRAVE Project, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of project outcomes in line with donor standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of integrated SRHR interventions, including Comprehensive SRH Education, Champions of Change (CoC), disability inclusion, climate resilience, and advocacy activities.
  • Lead the FGAE project team and foster collaboration and capacity building with EWDNA and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor detailed project work plans, budgets, and reporting schedules in alignment with the project’s Theory of Change and Results Framework.
  • Strengthen partnerships with government institutions (health, education, women and social affairs), CSOs, CBOs, OPDs, private sector actors, and community structures to enhance project ownership and sustainability.
  • Ensure meaningful participation of adolescents and youth, including those with disabilities, throughout project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Oversee the implementation of gender-transformative and disability-inclusive approaches, including social norms analysis, community dialogues, and accessibility audits.
  • Support MEAL activities to ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems, and promote the use of data for adaptive management and decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality narrative and financial reports to Plan International Ethiopia in accordance with donor requirements.
  • Facilitate regular project review meetings with CBOs (WDAs and community-based committee members).
  • Identify, document, and disseminate project achievements, lessons learned, and best practices for internal learning and external advocacy.
  • Ensure compliance with FGAE and donor safeguarding, PSEAH, and environmental policies throughout project implementation.
  • Represent FGAE and the BRAVE Project in relevant coordination forums, clusters, and technical working groups at zonal and regional levels.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Area Manager or immediate supervisor.

Language & Contextual Knowledge Requirement:

  • Proficiency in local languages (Afan Oromo) and English; knowledge of sign language is an asset and Familiarity with West Hararghe Zone or similar socio-cultural and geographic contexts is desirable

About You

Minimum Required Qualification:

  • MPH/MSc/MA /BSs/BA in Public Health, Demography, Health Economics, Sociology, Population Study and related studies.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:

  • 5 Years for MA/MBA/MSc, 7 Years experience for BA degree directly relevant experience.

Possess progressive experience in Program/ project management within CSO and or public health sector (agencies implementing donor funded Programs/projects). Experience in project proposal development, report writing for donors including will be an added. Experience implementing SRHR, gender, youth, or community-based projects and working with adolescents, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalized communities in rural settings.
