Job Description

The Principal (Early Years) at Flipper International School PLC is responsible for overseeing the development and management of early childhood education programs. This full-time role, based in the office in Addis Ababa, focuses on ensuring high-quality educational experiences for young learners. The Principal will lead a team of educators, foster a positive learning environment, and engage with parents and the community to promote student development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement early years educational programs aligned with national standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the early years department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and development, implementing interventions as necessary.
  • Lead professional development initiatives for early years educators.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and community stakeholders to enhance student support.
  • Ensure compliance with educational regulations and policies.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively for the early years department.
  • Enforce discipline and behavioral policies consistently across the school.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to student performance and staff evaluations.

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Education, or a related field (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Education (required).
  • Valid teaching license or professional teaching certification.
  • Cambridge Early Years training or professional development is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years of teaching experience in Early Years.
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership role (Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Early Years, or Coordinator).
  • Experience implementing the Cambridge Early Years curriculum.
  • Experience leading teachers, curriculum planning, and school improvement initiatives.
