Job Description
The Principal (Early Years) at Flipper International School PLC is responsible for overseeing the development and management of early childhood education programs. This full-time role, based in the office in Addis Ababa, focuses on ensuring high-quality educational experiences for young learners. The Principal will lead a team of educators, foster a positive learning environment, and engage with parents and the community to promote student development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement early years educational programs aligned with national standards.
- Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the early years department.
- Monitor and assess student progress and development, implementing interventions as necessary.
- Lead professional development initiatives for early years educators.
- Build strong relationships with parents and community stakeholders to enhance student support.
- Ensure compliance with educational regulations and policies.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively for the early years department.
- Enforce discipline and behavioral policies consistently across the school.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to student performance and staff evaluations.

Educational Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Education (required).
- Valid teaching license or professional teaching certification.
- Cambridge Early Years training or professional development is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of teaching experience in Early Years.
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership role (Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Early Years, or Coordinator).
- Experience implementing the Cambridge Early Years curriculum.
- Experience leading teachers, curriculum planning, and school improvement initiatives.
