The Neuroradiologist will specialize in the interpretation and diagnosis of disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, head and neck, and peripheral nervous system through advanced medical imaging techniques. This role involves performing and interpreting complex neuroimaging studies, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing expert diagnostic support for the management of neurological conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Duties:

• Interpret and report neuroimaging studies, including MRI, CT scans, angiography, myelography, and other advanced imaging procedures involving the brain, spine, head, neck, and nervous system.

Diagnose and evaluate a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including stroke, brain tumors, aneurysms, vascular malformations, traumatic brain injuries, spinal disorders, multiple sclerosis, and neurodegenerative diseases.

• Perform and supervise image-guided diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology procedures, where applicable.
• Provide timely and accurate radiological consultations to neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure the quality, safety, and appropriateness of neuroimaging examinations and protocols.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to patient management plans through expert imaging interpretation.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely radiology reports and patient records.
• Collaborate with radiographers, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other specialists to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance programs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, radiology standards, and radiation safety regulations.

Educational Duties:

• Educate patients and their families regarding imaging procedures and diagnostic findings when appropriate.
• Mentor radiology residents, junior physicians, technologists, and medical students in neuroradiology principles and practices.
• Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and continuing medical education programs.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in neuroradiology, imaging technologies, interventional techniques, and evidence-based practices.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
• Specialization in Radiology with subspeciality.
• Valid professional license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable post-specialization experience as s Neuroradiologist.
