Under the direct supervision of the Health and Nutrition Officer, the Clinical Nurse will implement maternal and child health activities in Tulo Woreda. This position plays a vital role in delivering integrated health and nutrition services, with a focus on child health, communicable disease prevention, and hygiene promotion. Through Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and targeted counselling, the Clinical Nurse will support children, pregnant and lactating women (PLWs), and adolescent girls on key issues such as nutrition, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS and STI prevention, and sanitation.
The Clinical Nurse will strengthen frontline health service delivery by providing technical assistance, on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to facility-based nurses, Health Extension Workers (HEWs), and community health workers. S/he will also plan and facilitate capacity-building training sessions, conduct regular supportive supervision, participate in routine monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, and ensure the collection of quality data to guide program improvement.
Working in close collaboration with woreda health offices, government stakeholders, and implementing partners (IPs), the Clinical Nurse will ensure coordinated and efficient implementation of health activities. Additionally, the role involves preparing timely technical reports and actively participating in coordination forums, stakeholder meetings, and capacity-building workshops to advocate for quality and inclusive health service delivery in the project area.
