Job Description
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Negotiable
Requirements:
Education
· Diploma/level 3/4/5 in industrial engineering/mechanics and electrical /machintronics/or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience
- · 2–5 years in a chemical, fertilizer, food processing, or beverage industry.
- · Must have worked with pumps, agitators, and liquid filling lines.
- · Experience in corrosive environments (acids, alkalis, salts) is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
Core Competencies & Skills:
1. Plant Operations & Maintenance
- · Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment used in liquid fertilizer production:
- · Maintain mixing tanks, fermenters, agitators, and transfer pumps.
- · Control panels, motors, Variable Frequency Drives, sensors, solenoid valves.
- · Bottle filling machines and mouth sticker guns, etc.
- · Boilers or heaters (if thermal digestion is used), cooling towers, pH correction systems.
- · Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules.
- · Monitor motor currents, vibration, temperature, lubrication levels, and electrical insulation.
2. Mechanical Focus
- · Repair and alignment of pumps, agitators, gearboxes, and pipe joints.
- · Fabrication/modification of pipelines, tank fittings, and support structures.
- · Welding and pipe threading.
- · Manage spare parts inventory for mechanical seals, bearings, gaskets, and impellers.
3. Electrical Focus
- · Diagnose and repair control circuits, contactors, thermal overload relays, and PLC-related faults.
- · Maintain electrical panels, earthing systems, and cable trays in a wet/corrosive environment.
- · Calibrate and troubleshoot level switches, flow meters, conductivity probes, and temperature controllers.
- · Ensure all electrical systems have proper IP rating (water/dust protection) and chemical resistance.
4. Process Optimization
- · Suggest modifications to reduce energy consumption (motor efficiency, pump recirculation).
- · Work with the production team to minimize downtime during batch transfers or cleaning cycles.
5. Safety & Compliance
- · strictly follow Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
- · Use chemical-resistant PPE – acids and organic liquids can damage standard parts.
- · Ensure all equipment is earthed to prevent static discharge (risk with organic solvents/vapors).
- · Comply with local environmental and electrical safety regulations
Category Specific Skills
- Mechanical Pump overhaul, agitator alignment, SS welding, bearing replacement, pipe fitting.
- Electrical 3-phase motor starters, VFD programming, relay logic, sensor calibration, panel troubleshooting.
- Instruments: Pressure gauges, RTDs, pH probes, level transmitters, flow switches.
- Tools: Multimeter, megger, tachometer, dial gauge, infrared thermometer.
Soft Skills & Working Conditions
· Physical ability to climb tanks, lift pumps (20–30 kg), work in humid/odorous areas.
· Willing to work rotational shifts or emergency call-outs (fermentation cycles are 24/7).
· Good documentation – logbooks, checklist sign-offs, downtime reports, Basic computer skills, and ERP usage are a must.(for planning and reporting).
