Hope Enterprises is a local civil society organization established in 1971 and dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in Ethiopia, particularly children, youth, women, street people, people exposed to risks and in need of support, people with disabilities, and underserved communities. The organization implements holistic development interventions focusing on education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), youth empowerment, sponsorship programs, school feeding initiatives, basic needs support, livelihood improvement, community development, and humanitarian response services. In partnership with local and international organizations, Hope Enterprises promotes sustainable social and economic transformation through its unique development approach known as the “Ladder of Hope,” which emphasizes basic needs support, education, competency, sufficiency, and value maturation.
To strengthen its institutional visibility, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization efforts, and organizational communication systems, Hope Enterprises seeks to employ a qualified, competent, creative, and motivated professional for the position of Marketing and Communication Officer. The organization is looking for an individual with strong communication, branding, public relations, and digital media skills who can effectively promote the mission, programs, achievements, and impact of Hope Enterprises to partners, donors, beneficiaries, and the wider public while contributing to the strategic objectives and sustainable growth of the organization.
The Marketing and Communication Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the organization’s communication, marketing, branding, publication, documentation, and public relations activities. The position plays a vital role in enhancing the visibility, image, programs, achievements, fundraising efforts, and income-generating initiatives (IGA) of Hope Enterprises through effective communication and promotional strategies. The officer will manage the organization’s website and digital media platforms, prepare publications and promotional materials, document organizational impacts and success stories, strengthen stakeholder engagement, support donor visibility requirements, and ensure consistent organizational branding and messaging. The role requires creativity, strong communication and documentation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
The Marketing and Communication Officer shall perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

Internal Communication
The Marketing and Communication Officer will work closely with the Executive Director, particularly in providing direction, implementing communication policies, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives. The position will also collaborate closely with IT professionals to effectively utilize digital systems and platforms in enhancing communication, visibility, and information management across the organization.
In addition, the officer will maintain strong working relationships with project managers, department heads, finance, human resource and administration staff, program officers, branch managers, and other employees of Hope Enterprises to ensure coordinated communication, consistent messaging, and enhanced organizational visibility both internally and externally.
External Communication
The position requires regular communication and coordination with donors, media organizations, government institutions, stockholders, community representatives, sponsors, partner organizations, service providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
