Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed maintenance schedules for preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Create and manage work orders within the CMMS/SAP maintenance system.
  • Coordinate maintenance plans with Operations to ensure equipment availability and minimize production disruptions.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities based on safety, compliance, operational impact, and asset criticality.
  • Plan and schedule manpower, contractors, tools, and materials required for maintenance work.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog and drive timely execution of planned work.
  • Coordinate plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance activities.
  • Ensure spare parts, materials, and resources are available before scheduled work begins.
  • Track maintenance KPIs including schedule compliance, backlog, equipment downtime, and work order completion rates.
  • Analyze maintenance performance data and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and asset documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Together with site team, perform conduct all necessary plant maintenance.
  • Coordinate (as a shift lead) and carry out seed conditioning at Menagesha as well as on any other 3rd party plants.
  • Make seed quality checks during conditioning.
  • Follow-up the proper bagging.
  • Make sure appropriate use of PPEs during conditioning.
  • Make sure all safety procedures followed during conditioning.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and plant maintenance within a manufacturing or agricultural environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP/CMMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance, asset reliability, and spare parts management.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in seed processing or agricultural operations is an advantage.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work shifts (including weekends / public holidays to support operational requirements).
  • Reliable transportation.
