JOB SUMMARY

  1. The Logistics Intern is responsible for supporting logistics activities in Addis Ababa Office Ethiopia

JOB RESPONSIBITIES

  • Support supply chain activities including planning, sourcing, transport, shipping, warehousing, asset management; apply distribution control techniques to optimize stock levels
  • Support procurement process in accordance with MTI and donor policies and procedures, in a transparent, accountable, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner, negotiating prices and proposing new suppliers to be validated
  • Track vendor contracts and work closely with user departments to ensure effective and efficient implementation; support timely vendor payment by submitting all required documentation in accordance with schedules
  • Track all organization equipment and assets.
  • Support occasional monitoring of inventory and assets to verify condition and proper use of property
  • Assist in planning of office management needs including purchasing of office supplies
  • Support safety and security tasks as delegated
  • Support the development database of suppliers of goods and services
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to act with integrity and ensure security and appropriate use of assets.
  • Ability to maintain detailed records with high accuracy.
  • Ability to support MTI Calling and adhere to the MTI Code of Conduct

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

This position requires frequent travel to health facilities located in remote areas with very basic living conditions.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTFICATION

  • Minimum BA degree in Logistics and Procurement, Supply Chain Management, and other related social science fields of study from a recognized higher education institution
  • Only Female Graduates of 2017 or 2018 E.C
  • Only candidates with a GPA of 3.7 and above

EXPERIENCE

  • Only zero years of work experience required

KNOWLEDGE

  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resource Management
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail

SKILLS

  • Good judgment regarding confidentiality and respect for sensitive materials
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken & written Amharic and English
  • Skilled in communication
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • A good command of both written and spoken Amharic and English.
