Job Description

DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government, bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following position.

Logistic Officer

Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process procurement requests in line with organizational policies.
  • Prepare purchase orders, collect quotations, and follow up on approvals and vendor selection.
  • Maintain up-to-date procurement records and vendor databases.
  • Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods, staff, and materials to project sites.
  • Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain vehicle logs and ensure safety and insurance compliance. Support field teams with logistics arrangements, including accommodation, travel, and event logistics.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and government agencies for customs clearance and permits.
  • Ensure the timely delivery and tracking of all procured goods and services

About You

Qualification BA/MA

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

NGO/CSO Experience

  • 3-4 years

Additional Skill .

  • Ability to work in a team and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with local building regulations and the Gambella region is a plus.
