Job vacancies at the Organization for Child Development and Transformation (CHADET), Ethiopia

CHADET Ethiopia is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for the protection and welfare of children found under difficult circumstances. CHADET would like to hire competent staff for supporting and executing a project that is being designed to support the coordination and execute a project that is being designed to provide non-formal education for selected street children in Addis Ababa.

The positions and key tasks that are expected of the candidate are outlined as follows:

01. Project Coordinator

Deadline: February 24, 2026    |   Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

RATSON: Women, Youth, and Children Development Program is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for promotion, Protection and Advocacy of Women, Youth and Children rights. RATSON would like to hire a competent staff to coordinate the operation of the Ethiopian Child Rights Advocacy Network (ECRAN). ECRAN is a recently established network of CSOs with a mission of promoting evidence-based advocacy on child rights in Ethiopia.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time Contract (for one year with possible extension)

REPORTS TO: ECRAN’s Board

JOB PURPOSE:

Coordinate efforts of ECRAN member CSOs in their work to conduct advocacy and the promotion of the rights of children.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with government departments, line ministries and other development partners in matters related to policy formulation, implementation and monitoring of international and regional instruments,
  • Actively engage in the compilation of CSOs Complimentary Reports regarding the commitments made by the Government of Ethiopia,
  • Organize platforms for members of the network to conduct dialogue on common challenges that are being faced by children,
  • Prepare evidence-based policy papers/briefs on children’s rights to help policy makers and practitioners consider better ways of addressing the problem,
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships and membership with other networks at national, regional and international level,
  • Organize training and advocacy programs for leaders of public, private and not-for profit institutions.
  • Compile and submit activity reports on timely basis,
  • Carry out other activities as may be assigned by his supervisor.

ACADAMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields of the social sciences with three years of coordinating/leading projects or Bachelor’s Degree with five extensive experiences in Project Management.

PROFESIONAL EXPEREIENCE:

Proven experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder partnerships including international organizations and the government,

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Data analysis and visualization: Using tools like SQL or Excel to interpret data for decision-making.
  • Project Management: Proficient use of tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, JIRA) to plan, execute, and monitor projects.
  • Digital and IT literacy: literacy: Understanding software, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technology to support team workflows.
  • Financial and budgeting skills: Analyzing financial data, preparing and managing budgets, and understanding basic principles of accounting.
  • Writing and communication skills: skills: Excellent report writing skills, documentation, and in the provision of clear and structured communication skills for technical and non-technical staff.
  • Risk management and compliance: Identifying potential risks and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Social media and marketing tools: Utilizing platforms for branding and analytics.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of program management related to the project,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and abilities to lead and work with multi-stakeholder groups,
  • Proficiency in the use of computers (MS word, excel, power point, e-mail, internet)
  • Excellent in written and spoken English
