Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is a US based nonprofit organization partnering with countries, communities, and organizations to prevent 100 million deaths from cardiovascular disease and make the world safer from epidemics. RTSL is committed to saving as many lives as possible by prioritizing partnerships with government, national, and local organizations in low- and middle-income countries to co-create, advocate for, and scale up activities in heart disease prevention and epidemic preparedness. RTSL has established a branch office in Ethiopia with the goal of furthering its non-profit mission in Ethiopia. RTSL has been working with the Ethiopia Public Health Institute and the Ethiopia Federal Ministry of Health, providing broad-based technical assistance and support across different program areas. In Ethiopia, the Prevent Epidemics program focuses on helping the country improve its capacity across some of the International Health Regulations (IHR) technical areas and seeks to strengthen collection and utilization of timely information related to public health emergency detection, notification, and response to improve the system’s performance in early detection and response.
