Job Description
Background
Established in 2004, Crisis Action is an international organization which works with hundreds of civil society groups from all continents to accomplish its mission. Crisis Action Ltd., registered under License Registration No. 4636 in Ethiopia, is an independent non-profit foreign organization, registered by the Ethiopian Civil Societies Agency (CSO Agency), mainly engaged with supporting the work of the African Union Commission, its organs and departments to support and influence decision making efforts aimed at protecting civilians in conflict situation in Africa. Its specific mission is to coordinate joint NGO effort and campaigns that help to avert conflict, prevent human rights abuses and ensure governments take decisive action to protect civilians in conflict.
Objectives of the Audit
- To provide an independent opinion on whether the financial statements present a true and fair view of the organization’s financial performance and position.

Scope of Work
The selected audit firm will be responsible for:
- Reviewing financial statements and records for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025.
- Assessing the accuracy and completeness of financial reports submitted to donors.
- Examining compliance with national laws and regulations, including those of the Ethiopian Charities and Societies Agency.
- Reviewing the internal control environment and identifying any risks or weaknesses.
- Preparing a comprehensive audit report with findings, recommendations and Management Letter.
Deliverables
The selected audit firm will be required to deliver the following:
- An audited financial statement, including the auditor’s opinion.
- A management letter highlighting key findings and areas for improvement.
- Recommendations for strengthening financial and internal control systems.
Qualifications of the Audit Firm
The audit firm should meet the following criteria:
- Be licensed and registered in Ethiopia as per national regulations.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing NGOs or similar organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in auditing financial statements in compliance with international and national standards.
Submission Requirements
Interested audit firms are requested to submit their proposals, which should include:
- A technical proposal outlining the approach and methodology for the audit.
- A financial proposal with a detailed breakdown of costs.
- Proof of registration and licensing.
- Profiles of key personnel who will be involved in the audit.
- References from similar assignments.
