Organization:

Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Ethiopia – a Canadian-based international NGO focusing on youth empowerment through digital technology and business development.
Project Overview: This initiative, funded by NOKIA International and implemented in collaboration with Ethio Telecom, aims to upskill youth in Ethiopia—especially young women—for employment and innovation in the telecommunications sector.

Internship Role & Benefits

  • Join a dynamic five-month internship program, engaging with youth communities across five selected regions. As an intern, you’ll receive hands-on training in DOT’s 21st-century skill set—including
  • critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, collaboration, and essential life and career skills—to help you confidently navigate the transition into employment.
  • In addition to this foundational training, you’ll gain practical coaching to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and strengthen your business acumen. Interns will receive a modest stipend to support their
  • participation throughout the program..

Work Locations:

  • Amhara: Bahir Dar; Tigray: Adeshehu and Samre; Sidama: Hawassa; Oromiya: Jimma; Dire Dawa: Dire Dawa

Number: two for each workstation/Region

About You

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: 18–29 years
  • Education: Fresh graduates in computer science or related fields

Skills:

  • Strong command of MS Office, Google tools, social media, etc
  • Basic hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Bonus: Graphic design, video editing, WordPress

Character Traits:

  • Community-focused
  • Creative, confident, and professional
  • Passion for lifelong learning
  • Business or entrepreneurial exposure preferred

Language:

  • Fluent in English and a local language
  • Commitment: Full-time (at least 35 hours/week)
