The Staff Benefits Unit is responsible for the administration and management of staff entitlements, benefits processing, and related human resource management services. The unit ensures compliance with organizational policies and efficient service delivery to staff members.
The Intern will support the unit in routine administrative functions, documentation management, and coordination with the Strategy and Information Management Unit to ensure integrity and completeness of archived records. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Staff Benefits unit and/or Staff Benefits Officer, the Intern will be responsible for the following duties:
-Assist in the preparation of routine data summaries and tracking sheets to support unit reporting activities.
-Participate in collaboration with the Strategy and Information Management Unit to support audits of archived files.
-Contribute to the review of archived records to help ensure completeness and proper documentation.
-Assist in identifying missing or inconsistent files and support follow-up actions to address documentation gaps.
-Participate in the collection, compilation, and submission of monthly inputs and reports on behalf of the unit.
-Assist in performing other related administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor, as part of on-the-job learning and development.

In addition, education background in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Information Management Or a related field is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English is required for this internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
