ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Information Desk Assistant/Receptionist position who meet the following requirements.

Job Summary
The Information Desk Assistant/Receptionist at the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) serves as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. This role is responsible for handling front desk operations, managing incoming calls and inquiries, directing visitors, and providing administrative support to the office. The Receptionist is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and efficiency in daily operations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional reception experience.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Manage the visitor registration process, including maintaining logs and issuing visitor badges.
- Provide accurate information about NEBE’s services, policies, and procedures to callers and guests.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, documents, and deliveries in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable reception area at all times.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and conference room bookings as needed.
- Assist in administrative tasks, such as drafting correspondence, photocopying, and filing documents.
- Monitor security procedures at the reception area and report any suspicious activity.
- Coordinate with the General Services Department to ensure proper maintenance of office supplies and equipment.
- Support internal and external communication efforts by relaying messages accurately and promptly.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Services Manager.
About You
Specification:
Education and Work Experience:
- Diploma or BA in Management, Public Administration, Secretarial Science and Office Management or related fields.
- 1-year for Bachelor | 3 years relevant Experience for Diploma.
Knowledge and Skill:
- Good command in Amharic.
- Good self-organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Stress tolerance and patience.
- Discipline and punctuality.
- Meeting employees and visitors with a friendly manner.
- Fluency in Amharic is required and good command in English is a plus.
