Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

The purpose of the ICLA social support position is to assist with the day-to-day implementation of the Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) Karsadula and Guradhamole IDP sites and the surrounding host community.

Generic Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements in daily tasks 
  • Share feedback with supervisors on challenges encountered during activities 
  • Cooperate with relevant partners and local authorities as directed by supervisors 
  • Support ICLA officers in implementing delegated ICLA programme activities according to the plan of action 
  • Assist in identifying and registering beneficiaries as instructed by ICLA staff 
  • Demonstrate commitment to NRC’s mission, vision, and values

Specific responsibilities:

  • Assist as a point of contact between the community and ICLA staff, by relaying information as guided by the ICLA Officer.
  • Support the organization of mobile group information sessions (e.g., preparing materials, registering participants, arranging venues) under the guidance of ICLA officers.
  • Assist in maintaining communication records with beneficiaries, including updating contact lists and tracking sheets.
  • Support administrative aspects of case management, including filing, data entry, and organizing documents, as instructed.
  • Support logistical arrangements for community outreach and awareness activities, including venue setup, participant registration, and distribution of IEC materials under the supervision of the ICLA Officer.
  • Maintain organized records of documents, meeting notes, and routine letters as instructed by the ICLA Officer.
  • Follow ICLA policies, donor agreements, work plans, budgets, and procurement plans in daily support tasks.
  • Adhere to NRC’s Human Resource, Financial, Logistics & Security policies and procedures.
  • Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager.

 

Qualifications

Generic professional competencies

  • Grade 12/diploma and above 
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize tasks, and meet deadlines 

Context-related skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Some experience supporting community mobilization or similar activities in a humanitarian/ recovery context is an asset 
  • Basic experience interacting with community members and local authorities is an asset 
  • Basic administrative and record-keeping skills 
  • Fluency in English and local language skills will be considered an asset
