Job Description

African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) – Ethiopia is a Local Civil Society Organization re-registered with the Federal Authority for Civil Society Organizations under registration number 0385 and working on Child Protection. It is one of the oldest Child Protection Organization in Ethiopia and is implementing different programs in different parts of Ethiopia in collaboration with donor partners and government stakeholders. ANPPCAN-Ethiopia is looking for a competent Human Resource and General Service Officer who is willing to start his/her role immediately. Hence, ANPPCAN- Ethiopia invites competent and interested applicants who fulfill the requirements indicated below to applay for the following position.

PositionHuman Resource and General Service Officer

Roles and Responsibuilities:

Reporting to the Executive Director of ANPPCAN-Ethiopia, the Human Resource and General Service Officer will have the following major roles and responsibilites;

  • Undertake recruitment and selection of new staff at head office
  • Facilitate the recruitment and selection of project staff according to the HR policy of ANPPCAN-Ethiopia
  • Handle staffing, transfer, social security, pension, retirement and disciplinary cases according to the HR Policy of the organization and the labor law.
  • Prepare annual training and staff development plan.
  • Developing and enforcing HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Ensures that all personnel files are maintained and updated.
  • Monitors and coordinates timely contract renewals and personnel performance evaluation.
  • Arranges personnel ID cards and prepares annual leave plan and.
  • Supervises the services of office attendants, security guards and drivers.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, insurance and annual inspection of vehicles in consultation with the Executive Director.
  • Maintaining office buildings, utilities, equipment, and vehicles to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment.
  • Planning and purchasing office supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinating security services, safety protocols, and risk mitigation strategies to protect company assets and employees.
  • Overseeing office support staff and administrative workflows.
  • Supervises the timely fuelling, maintenance and servicing of vehicles.
  • Ensures the renewal of vehicle insurance and road licenses
  • Assists the casher and purchaser in purchasing, delivery and distribution of requested items;
  • Provides logistical support to workshops and meeting participants and visiting delegates
  • Suppervise and file staff attendance
  • Prepares and submits reports
  • Do other activities given to hm/her by the Executive Director.

Salary: Negotiable

Terms of Employment: Until end of December 31, 2026 with high possibility of extension.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • MA/BA in Management, Human Resources Management /Public Administration A minimum of 2-2-3 years of relevant experiences
  • Knowing the national NGOs environment is advantageous
