Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Assistant plays a central role in delivering HR and administrative support for the field office, contributing across recruitment, staffing, training, and performance management. The position helps source candidates, coordinates key steps in the hiring process, and supports the development and implementation of HR systems and initiatives. It also assists in strengthening HR policies and procedures while ensuring smooth, consistent execution of daytoday HR operations that align with the broader HR strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Post job vacancies at the field office and coordinate interview scheduling with the Addis HR team in line with SP procedures.
  • Manage candidate communication throughout the recruitment cycle, including sending test and interview invitations.
  • Maintain complete, wellorganized, and regularly updated personnel files in both physical and digital formats.
  • Lead onboarding and induction for new staff, ensuring they understand SPE policies and receive periodic reorientation.
  • Track and file employee leave requests, monitor timesheets, and review leave and vacation balances.
  • Respond to employee HR inquiries and help resolve issues internally when possible.
  • Coordinate with the Addis HR team and field office leadership to follow up on probationary and annual performance reviews.
  • Support offboarding by ensuring departing staff complete full handovers and participate in exit interviews.
  • Assist in preparing HR documentation and reports required for audits, inspections, or other compliance processes.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture by supporting crossdepartmental activities and HRrelated initiatives.
  • Any other related tasks as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus
  • 1 2 years experience in HR preferably in another INGO

LANGUAGE 

  • Proficiency in English and Amharic
  • Knowledge of the regional language required
  • Knowledge of any other national language is a plus
