Key Objective of the Position

The GBV Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response interventions under ELiDA’s project portfolio. The role requires strong technical knowledge in GBV programming, leadership abilities for guiding field teams, and excellent collaboration with government partners, community leaders, and stakeholders to ensure safe and empowering spaces for women and girls.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day implementation and coordination of the GBV project in accordance with donor guidelines, project plans, and ELiDA’s policies.
  • Supervise and mentor GBV project staff, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to survivor-centered approaches.
  • Design and facilitate capacity building sessions for staff, partners, and community actors on GBV prevention and response.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to project sites and ensure activities are progressing as planned.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of narrative and financial reports in collaboration with the MEL Officer and finance team.
  • Strengthen partnerships with local government offices (Women & Children Affairs, Health, Education, Justice) and community-based protection structures.
  • Oversee the establishment and functioning of referral pathways and case management systems.
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and recommendations for program improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, PSEA standards, and survivor confidentiality principles.
  • Participate in sectoral coordination platforms (GBV sub-clusters, task forces) at local and regional levels.
  • Assist in resource mobilization and proposal development for new GBV-related initiatives.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Program Manager and Executive Director for the advancement of ELiDA’s GBV programming.

About You

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Master’s/BA Degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in GBV project management within the development or humanitarian sector.
  • Sound knowledge of GBV concepts, national protection frameworks, and global GBV prevention and response standards.
  • Experience managing case management teams and coordinating multi-sectoral GBV response.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to produce quality technical reports for donors and partners.
  • Strong commitment to gender equality, women’s empowerment, and human rights.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project implementation sites.
