Finance Officer

We are hiring a Finance Officer to strengthen our accounting and finance function, ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax and regulatory requirements, and support smooth financial operations across our warehouse and inventory processes.

This position has been created to build up our finance department as the company grows, enhancing collaboration, distributing workload, and supporting continued success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank statements, receivables, payables, and general ledger accounts.
• Deliver clear financial reports to support management decision-making.

2. Tax Compliance

• Prepare and submit VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and annual income tax filings.
• Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and deadlines.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise the team proactively.

3. Month-End & Year-End Closing

• Take ownership of month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and summary reports.
• Facilitate audit readiness and support audit activities.

4. Internal Controls & Compliance

• Implement and maintain internal controls aligned with accounting standards and local regulations.
• Identify financial risks and support mitigation strategies.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support preparation and review of budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze variances and recommend actionable improvements.
• Assist in cost monitoring and financial planning.

6. Payroll & Employee Benefits

• Manage payroll processes ensuring accuracy and tax compliance.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure timely disbursements.

7. Audit & External Collaboration

• Coordinate and support external audit activities.
• Liaise with tax authorities and regulatory bodies on compliance matters.

8. Warehouse Financial Oversight & Governance

• Collaborate closely with warehouse operations to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Implement controls for inventory, stock valuation, and financial accountability in warehouse processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of finance experience, preferably in accounting, compliance, or operations.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency with accounting software and digital finance tools.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and process-focused.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
