With more than 225 staff, GIZ African Union cooperates with the AU Commission, as well as the AU’s specialized institutions and agencies, such as the Development Agency AUDA-NEPAD, at continental, regional and national level in more than 35 member states. Key areas of engagement include Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, Governance and Migration, Regional Economic Integration, as well as Pandemic Prevention and Health.
The GIZ African Union Office headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with further staff based in South Africa, Ghana and Germany provides services and support in the areas of procurement, financial management, events and travel, human resources, internal operations, communication and portfolio management to all GIZ programmes and projects that are implemented in partnership with the African Union
Responsibilities and Duties
The Assistant for the management of Business Partner Management will enter the relevant commercial and legal data of all business partners of GIZ into the new System S4GIZ. He/she will keep the database updated continuously. The tasks include among others:
- Carry out quality checks on the business partner data submitted and subsequent systemic creation of business partners incl. roles in the S4GIZ-System
- Checking and entering or changing warning notices or blocking notices in the system
- Cancelling and making changes to existing business partners
- Obtaining information on the economic situation of the submitted, relevant business partners from suitable sources. Documentation of the information received in the business partner data record
- Ensure high quality and exactitude of data entered into the database
- In any case, you will be involved in the further development of processes and in knowledge management in your area and will compile and share documentation. If required, you will also support other specialists in familiarizing themselves with and completing their tasks.
- Cross-office cooperation with Country-Office Team and potentially other Country Offices/HQ is part of the task.
- All other tasks related to the work as Cashier in the AU Portfolio
About You
Qualifications
- University Degree /Diploma in Commerce or Accounting and Finance, Commerce or similar fields.
Professional experience
- University Degree / Diploma with Minimum 2 years in similar occupations
Other knowledge, additional competencies
- Good knowledge of the public procurement process and its legal basis
- Very good organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- A high level of service orientation as well as the ability to work in a team, resilience, self-organization, commitment, reliability, diplomatic skills, gender competence, intercultural understanding and strong communication skills
- Fluent in English language both in speaking and writing, German and French language is an asset.
