We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Female Finance Assistant to support the Finance Department in managing day-to-day financial operations. The role involves maintaining accurate records, processing payments, monitoring budgets, and preparing financial documents. The Finance Assistant will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality while contributing to the efficient management of the organizations goal.
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including daily transactions, contracts, and supporting documentation.
Support the organization and upkeep of filing systems—both digital and physical—for easy access, traceability, and audit readiness.
Assist in processing payments to suppliers, vendors, and employees by verifying supporting documents and ensuring adherence to financial policies.
Provide support in payroll operations, including preparing employee salary data, benefits, and deductions in line with payroll laws and company guidelines.
Help monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure availability of funds for day-to-day operations and project activities.
Assist in preparing and monitoring project, program, and departmental budgets to ensure accountability and effective resource allocation.
Collaborate with the Finance Team and internal stakeholders by providing accurate financial data to support planning and decision-making.
Support financial analysis by collecting data, identifying variances, and preparing basic reports for management review.
Assist in drafting regular financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Contribute to maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
Provide support during audits, tax reporting, and compliance reviews by preparing and organizing required documents.
Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, spreadsheets, Peachtree systems) for bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting.
Assist in tracking expenses by project, department, and funding source, and help prepare financial reports.
Ensure consistency and accuracy across financial documentation and correspondence.
Support staff with guidance on basic financial procedures and documentation when needed.
Complete assigned weekly financial tasks on time and maintain professionalism in all communications.
Stay informed about basic donor requirements and financial best practices as relevant to the role.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
One or more years of relevant experience or internship in finance, accounting, or administration (entry-level candidates with strong academic performance may also be considered).
Basic knowledge of accounting software, especially QuickBooks, with good working skills in Google Sheets/MS Excel (spreadsheets, charts, and basic formulas).
Ability to assist in preparing financial reports and project-based financial tracking.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of IFRS or donor funding compliance is an advantage but not mandatory.
Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow within the finance function.
