Job Description

To succeed in this role, the officer must demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, excellent communication, knowledge of financial policies, procedures, and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide required weekly reports by specified deadlines to the Field Accountant.
• Ensure compliance to with Samaritans Purse field accounting policies.
• Review and ensure accuracy of financial transactions for Samaritans Purse field operations based in the region as appropriate (includes vouchers, FERs, Cash Advances, transfers, etc.)
• Ensure all cash is reconciled on a daily basis, reporting any over/under to the Field Accountant.
• Administer all cash advances to employees and partners, reconciling receipts and cash.
• Support the Field Accountant during internal and external audit activities.
• Ensure finance documents are properly filed and maintained.
• Scanning and archiving large quantities of data.
• Ensure that the scanner is well maintained.
• Handling sensitive documents which require a trustworthy individual.
• Compiling, checking and proper filing of all financial documents.
• Any other duties as may be required from time to time.

Education / Experience Needed

• Bachelor of Art in Accounting/Finance or Business Management.
• 2/3 years work experience working with International NGOs and US Government award desired

LANGUAGE 

• Proficiency in English and Amharic
• Knowledge of the regional language required
• Knowledge of any other national language is a plus
