PAD is currently seeking qualified and motivated individuals for the following position(s)

Position Details:

• Position: Project Coordinator
• Number required: 1 (one) at Waghimira Zones of the Amhara Regional State.
• Duty Station: Wag Hamra Zone, in Sekota town with regular field travel required
• Language: Proficiency in English and the local language(s) of the region is required.
• Employment Type: Contractual, project-based position subject to project funding and duration

1. Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator will lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and coordination of a multisectoral humanitarian project across four woredas in Waghimra Zone, Amhara Region, namely Dehana, Tsagbji, Abergele, and Gazgibla, ensuring effective delivery of project activities in line with agreed objectives and standards. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring high-quality implementation of integrated interventions spanning Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection, and WASH components. This role requires a dynamic professional capable of navigating multisectoral coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strict adherence to humanitarian standards in challenging operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Multisectoral Coordination

• Provide technical and operational leadership across all project sectors, ensuring seamless integration of Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection, and WASH activities.
• Coordinate the planning and execution of comprehensive service delivery, including health and nutrition services, clinical capacity building, and school-based protection and education initiatives.
• Ensure that protection and safeguarding policies are mainstreamed across all project components, including schools and health facilities.
• Facilitate regular review and coordination meetings among multisectoral stakeholders to ensure synergy and avoid duplication of efforts.

Monitoring, Reporting & Data Validation

• Establish and maintain robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project performance against indicators.
• Conduct routine data validation to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all technical and financial reports before donor submission.
• Perform regular field monitoring visits to verify reported project outcomes and ensure adherence to quality standards at the facility and community level.
• Analyze project data to identify implementation gaps and lead coordination meetings to refine data collection tools and improve reporting quality.
• Prepare and submit high-quality, donor-ready reports, including progress reports, impact stories, and final evaluations.

Project Management & Accountability

• Oversee the implementation of project activities as outlined in the project framework, including clinical mentorship, school-based protection mechanisms, and nutrition supply chain management.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with donor requirements, including financial accountability, timely reporting, and monitoring of project impact.
• Manage project resources effectively, ensuring last-mile delivery of essential supplies (medicines, RUTF, dignity kits) and efficient logistical support for field staff.
• Implement robust monitoring and evaluation tools to track performance, including protection monitoring in displacement sites and community feedback mechanisms.

Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building

• Represent the organization in zonal and woreda-level clusters, fostering strong relationships with local government offices (Health, Education, Women and Social Affairs).
• Oversee the capacity-building efforts for frontline workers, including IMNCI, BEmONC, CMR/GBV clinical protocols, and child protection case management.
• Promote community-based accountability through SBCC materials and inclusive community forums involving women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field; an Advanced Degree (MPH or equivalent) is highly preferred and considered a significant advantage.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian or development project management.
• Proven experience (at least 3 years) in a leadership or senior management position.
• Demonstrated expertise in coordinating multisectoral projects incorporating Protection, Education, and WASH components in addition to Health and Nutrition interventions. .

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of integrated health, nutrition, and protection programming.
• Excellent skills in donor reporting, proposal development, and budget management.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in remote/complex emergency settings.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and the local language
• Ability to work in field settings and collaborate with program teams and communities.
• Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
